These phones come equipped with cutting-edge technology like fast charging and advanced cameras, all while maintaining a sleek design that’s perfect for everyday use. So whether you’re on board or waiting until later in the year, there’s sure to be something worth keeping an eye out for. To help you stay up-to-date with everything in tech news, here are some key updates coming soon.
Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max
Apple launched its next flagship phone, the 12.9-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max, last month, and it brings several upgrades over previous versions of the device. The biggest change is its larger display size, which now measures in at an extra 10.7 inches compared to the 13-inch model. It also gets better camera performance, thanks to improved autofocus (focusing) and real-time portrait mode, plus a brighter OLED panel that delivers deeper blacks and richer colors. Finally, it comes with two major changes to the software: iOS 16 and MagSafe 2.5. Both of these additions allow users to manage their devices wirelessly and provide a faster onboard experience, with no need for the Touch ID sensor to unlock the screen.
Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra
The newest addition to Samsung’s lineup of premium phones is the Galaxy S22 Ultra, which was recently unveiled at MWC Barcelona 2022. This powerful flagship boasts several exciting improvements over its predecessor, including bigger batteries, improved hardware, and even a 108MP main camera. Its 4500mAh battery capacity is larger than ever for a large-screen smartphone, and it promises up to 40 hours of video playback time. Additionally, it supports wireless charging and includes built-in facial recognition, making it easy to unlock your phone without needing to use biometric authentication.
OnePlus Nord 2 5G
The best Android flagship right now, the OnePlus 9R 5G takes things another step forward with the launch of its successor, the OnePlus Nord 2 5G, earlier this month. With a massive 5000mAh battery, the device offers a lot of power, with fast charge times of up to 30 minutes, and it supports 15W Super VOOC charging. It also comes with a Snapdragon 778G chipset, along with a 50MP primary camera and 100MP ultra-wide, which provides excellent image quality. Lastly, it supports both mono and dual audio recording, which lets you create high-quality videos using just your voice alone.
Google Pixel 6
Google officially announced the Pixel 6 range back in August, but it’s already available in India, and the company has confirmed that it’ll start shipping the device globally sometime in April. As far as specifications go, the Pixel 6 includes a similar design to the current version, but with a slightly smaller notch that houses an IR blaster that’s not on sale today. In terms of specs, it consists of a 6.1-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with HDR10+ support, a 48MP main camera with four focus modes, and 8MP side ones, and it ships with 128GB of storage. It also runs Android 12 out of the box, and it’ll likely ship with three years of security updates and five years of OS upgrades.
Oppo Reno 8T 5G
The Reno 8T 5G is the third generation of what was once known as OPPO’s mid-range smartphone. At first glance, the device looks exactly the same as before, but the design changes significantly, as it uses color instead of black or white. Instead of the punch-cut cutout that’s still available on older Reno 8, it comes in a circular form factor that’s completely made of glass and weighs only 169g, which means it’s much lighter even for a smartphone that uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 chip. On top of that, it starts at 1.55GHz, which is way faster than its predecessors, and it also offers a 120Hz refresh rate that smooths things out when scrolling screens and gives it a smoother gaming experience. Additionally, it carries an IP68 water-resistance rating, which means it can survive immersion in 1.5 meters of water for a full day.
Huawei P30 Pro
The Huawei Mate X2 Pro is officially now available in China, though we don’t yet have any official details regarding pricing and availability. This phone is the successor to the Huawei Mate X2, which received significant upgrades, including upgraded cameras, longer battery life, and a better display panel. However, it’s worth mentioning that Huawei’s customizability options have also been expanded, and you can customize all aspects of the device.
